How we are paid

Quotes are free for companies. Some buyers pay us when a deal closes. Here is exactly how that works.

Last updated October 31, 2026

The short version

  • QuoteMyData is independent. We are not owned by, employed by or an agent of any data buyer, and we do not speak for any of them.
  • Some buyers, including companies profiled on this site, run referral or partner programs. When a company we introduce signs a deal, the buyer may pay us a fee.
  • That fee is paid by the buyer. It is not deducted from your payment and you never pay us.
  • We only introduce a company to a buyer with that company’s consent.

What buyers pay us

Where a buyer publishes its referral terms, we show them here. We disclose the applicable fee and any commercial relationship before you choose an introduction. Either way, the fee is paid by the buyer, not deducted from your payment.

micro1’s public page reviewed October 31, 2026. It says referral payouts follow data transfer and approval. These are public program terms, not a claim that QuoteMyData participates in each program or has earned these amounts.

How we handle the conflict

Fees differ between buyers and create a financial conflict of interest. We manage that in three ways: we present every qualifying offer we receive, we show you the terms side by side, and we tell you whether we would be compensated by each buyer before making an introduction. You can also use our research to approach a buyer directly.

How this differs from a seller-paid broker

Some brokers are paid by the company selling its data and take a share of the proceeds. We are not: you pay nothing, and buyers pay us a referral fee when a deal closes. In return we commit to three things: we take on a company only with its consent, we show offers from more than one buyer where possible, and we tell you when going direct to a buyer would serve you better. Read broker or direct for the trade-offs.

Buyer names and figures

Buyer names on this site identify the companies we write about. We do not use their logos and nothing here is endorsed by them. Deal ranges and other figures are reported values from public sources, shown with their source. They are not offers or promises of earnings, and actual offers depend on each buyer’s scoping.
